Mendham has been busy celebrating Christmas with our Christmas lunch yesterday, thank you Sarah for an amazing lunch and thank you to FOMSA - Friends of Mendham School Association 2024 who paid for the delicious local turkey from @PepperellsMeats Harleston.

Nature Explorers enjoyed a festive themed outdoor learning this week. The children used nature to help create some beautiful Christmas decorations. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you the the Mendham Primary School community for your support in the collection of toys for needy families and the refuge. As you can see the altar at Mendham Church was surrounded by lots of lovely toys which will all be distributed in South Norfolk for Christmas.

Sycamore and Hoxne were invited to a drama day at Hartismere High School to watch the performance of Treasure Island. It was performed by the Year 10 pupils and all of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, watching and participating with the performance. In the afternoon, the children worked in small groups alongside the Year 10 students to re-create scenes from the play and perform them in front of each other. They were all amazing and created some fabulous pieces of drama! A wonderful day for all!

Everyday we have an amazing group of parents and grandparents who come in and read with the children. This means that in Pine Class (Year 1 and 2) when reading skills are developing and need lots of practise, the children are heard at least four times a week. The difference this makes in terms of their fluency and understanding is phenomenal. Not to mention that the children absolutely love it! Sending a big thank you to our wonderful volunteers! If you have some spare time in the week, especially between 8:30am-9:00am, and would like to come in then please let any member of staff know.

Juniper class have been reading Pinocchio in Whole Class Reading. We have been discussing the story and learning all about Pinocchio's journey to becoming a real boy! The children have answered some questions to show their understanding of the text.
