During lunchtime today children chose to join in with relay racing across the school field. A child led activity saw almost half the school tag teaming each other as they ran backwards and forwards across the field. The children worked collaboratively together with older pupils supporting younger ones, competitive children allowing others to take the lead and win. Teams didn't stay in place for long but everyone managed to take turns effectively and demonstrate team spirit throughout the whole 30 minutes of the activity. Such a simple activity led to lots of social learning opportunities....and hopefully they will sleep well tonight!

Over the last few weeks Seedling have been looking at Families. We have discussed who is in our family, who we live with and our extended family who do not live with us. To demonstrate this, the children created pictures in a variety of ways such as drawing who lives in our house and making a house frame; we have also used pebbles or other craft materials, such as feathers, to represent our family members. Seedling created some excellent artwork.

Applications for our free County Music Groups 'Come and Play Day' on Saturday 24 October 2026 have just gone live on our website https://suffolkcountymusicservice.co.uk/take-part/county-music-groups/ Young musicians will get to experience being a member of Suffolk Youth Wind Band, Suffolk Young Strings or Suffolk Youth Orchestra for a day completely free of charge. Musicians of 18 years and under are welcome to all ensembles

In computing, Sycamore have been looking at how sharing through the internet can be used to help create work. They looked at how they could share books they had read through a Padlet and how we can then edit the work to correct it.

Your local MP Adrian Ramsey will be at Mendham church on Friday, if you have anything you would like to chat with him about its a drop in session 9-9.45 am.
