Pupils in Seedlings class have been looking at similarities and differences. Pupils were asked to 'Guess the baby' where photos were displayed in a gallery. Children then predicted who the baby could be in the photo and afterwards found out who the baby was. Children then looked at what was similar and different.

Juniper have been learning about the nutrients in food. We have learnt the names of the different nutrients and then we designed a healthy balanced meal that we could enjoy to keep us fit and healthy. We were surprised that there was sugar in chicken even though it doesn't taste sweet!

Pine class have been learning about materials in Science. We have found that a material is what something is made of and this week we were learning about the properties of materials and how they help them to do their jobs. We also sorted materials according to their properties.

During lunchtime today children chose to join in with relay racing across the school field. A child led activity saw almost half the school tag teaming each other as they ran backwards and forwards across the field. The children worked collaboratively together with older pupils supporting younger ones, competitive children allowing others to take the lead and win. Teams didn't stay in place for long but everyone managed to take turns effectively and demonstrate team spirit throughout the whole 30 minutes of the activity. Such a simple activity led to lots of social learning opportunities....and hopefully they will sleep well tonight!
